LATEST NEWS
Construction work in front of the hotel / Lower Market Square
Until the end of April 2026, excavation work for the installation of a new sewer line will be taking place in front of the hotel on the market square. This may result in higher noise levels during the day from Monday to Friday. We appreciate your understanding.
Our entrance from the pedestrian zone may also be blocked on some days; however, our main entrance will not be affected.
We do not anticipate any further disruptions.
Renovations January 2026
As in previous years, we renovated rooms and fitted them with new flooring at the turn of the year 2025/2026. Our Junior Suite “Wallenstein” now features a sleek designer floor and a modern box-spring bed with an upholstered headboard. The bathroom has also been redesigned and equipped with a larger shower.
VAT Reduction on Food / Breakfast Price 2026
The reduction in VAT on food, passed by the Bundestag and Bundesrat, allows us to maintain the affordable price for our generous breakfast in 2026 as well. For €15 per person, our overnight guests can choose from a wide selection of dishes, including hot and cold drinks, and enjoy freshly prepared hot egg dishes.
New and more powerful internet access for our guests
We have modernized our internet access and equipped it with the latest technology.
With a total of 10 access points, 2x 1000 Mbit download and 2x 50 Mbit upload speeds, surfing and working on the Internet is now more stable and faster in all areas of the hotel.
We are prepared for the environment friendly mobility:
You can charge your electric car at our charging stations with 11kW/22kW and type 2 plugs.
When making your reservation, please let us know that you need the charging option! There is a charging station directly at the hotel and two more in an adjacent building.
Of course, we also offer charging options for electric bicycles and motorcycles.
Renovations February 2024:
As in previous years, we have renovated 4 rooms in 2024 and equipped them with new carpeting. There are also new mattresses with a higher level of hardness. Please let us know when booking if you prefer a harder bed.
Of course, our rooms with smooth design floors and no carpet are also still available
Air-conditioned rooms
In the category “Juniorsuite cool” we now offer 3 spacious rooms with double bed and extra seating area, which are equipped with individually adjustable air conditioning.
You can enjoy a pleasant indoor climate, especially on hot summer days.

Outdoor sauna back in operation
From May 1st, 2023 you can use our Finnish garden sauna (95° C / 203° F) again. Like the two indoor saunas (salt crystal and bio sauna), it is available to you by appointment from the early afternoon until 9:00 p.m. Please let us know at least 1 hour in advance!
Energy saving measures
Since we also want to make our contribution to saving energy, we have implemented a number of measures. All the lights in the house have been switched to LED. In addition, the heating control was optimized and energy-efficient pumps were installed. Part of the building and the entire indoor sauna area are heated with geothermal energy.
Renovations January 2023:
Even if the work was not as extensive as in previous years, we renovated 2 rooms again and fitted them with a smooth design floor. It is now possible to book carpet-free rooms in all categories.
Updated certification in May 2022:
Once again, our house was checked by a commission and has been classified with 3 stars SUPERIOR according to the official DEHOGA guidelines for hotel stars, which are standard in many European countries.
Opening of our new building in September 2021:
After 2 years of construction, we are happy to have opened our new apartment building! Look forward to 3 modern hotel apartments with 36, 42 and 54 square meters / 388, 452 and 581 sq.ft. of living space, air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchenette.

New rules for housing dogs eff. 2020:
You are welcome to bring your four-legged friends with you! However, due to hygiene regulations, this is only possible in certain rooms and only for up to 2 small dogs. Please contact us before arrival to check availability. For the increased cleaning effort, we charge a fee of EUR 15 per animal per night. Please note that cats are generally not allowed in the rooms.
Renovations January 2020:
At the beginning of the year, as in previous years, we have redesigned some rooms. A junior suite and 2 comfort single rooms in the historical part of the house will be equipped with a smooth design floor, so that we now have a total of 7 allergy-friendly rooms.
